Your PAN & Aadhaar is not linked? Then you will get penalty of up to Rs 10,000

 If you have not yet linked your Permanent Account Number (PAN) with your Aadhaar card, you will be fined up to Rs 10,000.



If the PAN card is not linked to the Aadhaar card, you will have to pay a fine of Rs 1,000. Not only a fine of Rs.1000 and your Pan Card will be get blocked. You have only 1 day left for this. Therefore those who are not linked should link your PAN card with Aadhaar card as soon as possible.


Last Date for linking PAN to Aadhar Card 31st March 


The move is part of a new amendment to the 2021 Finance Bill passed in the Lok Sabha. When passed, the government added a new section (Section 234H) to the Income Tax Act, 1961. Based on this, all those who do not connect their PAN card with Aadhaar after March 31st they will get penalty. At the same time the pan service will be disabled!

The government will fix a fine for those who do not connect to PAN Aadhaar before the stipulated time. But the problem is that the PAN card of the unlinked person will be 'disabled'. This means that after that no one can use this card for any payment. under the current law, a PAN card is a mandatory document for all financial activities.


You'll get Penalty Upto Rs 10,000


Those who do not see the fine of Rs.1000 as a large amount should understand that this will hamper many of their work. PAN card is required for filing income tax. Therefore, if your PAN card is disabled, you will not be able to pay income tax. That can lead to huge fines for you. The fine is Rs 10,000. a fine of Rs 10,000 will be imposed along with a fine of Rs 1000.

Holders of such PAN card holders will be treated as Non-Pan Holders if a person cancels the 'inactive' PAN or provides its details. They can also be fined Rs 10,000 under Section 272B of the Income Tax Act. However, tax experts say that if the PAN becomes inoperable, the TDS is likely to be cut further.

According to the Income Tax Act, if a person does not provide information about his PAN, he will be charged heavy TDS or TCS.


How to link your PAN-Aadhaar online


To link Aadhaar PAN via SMS, send an SMS to 567678 or 56161. It has a fixed format. Write UIDAIPAN (12digit -Aadhaar number) SPACE (10 digit PAN number) and sms.

For example, suppose your Aadhaar card number is ABCD12345678 and your PAN number is WXYZ123456 then the format to send sms is "ABCD12345678 WXYZ123456" to 567678.


How to check online PAN and Aadhaar card Linked status 


However, there are people who have linked their PAN card and Aadhaar card, but should check if their PAN is seeded with the Aadhaar number. For that they have to click on the direct link on the Income Tax Department website - incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/aadhaarstatus. Enter the PAN and Aadhaar number and go to 'View Link Aadhaar Status'. Then their PAN will display on the computer monitor whether the Aadhaar is linked or not.
